1. Mama gives baby everything, she gives food and shelter and love
She gives stroller rides all fall and spring, she does far far more than enough
And she's always there when the baby cries, she takes Baby's photograph
But the one thing only Papa can do, he can make that baby laugh
And oh, how the laughter rings when he makes that baby laugh!
 
2. Mama walks in, the baby greets her with a smile from ear to ear
And no one but Mama knows how to ease those baby fears
And it's too bad Papa has to work so hard, but he needs that time-and-a-half
So he waits till the baby wakes, and then he makes that baby laugh

3. He might do crazy, silly things - he might put on a funny hat
Or dance, or tickle a little bit because Baby always likes that
And he sings and shouts and jumps about, and acts just a little bit daft
And Mama joins in the happy din when he makes that baby laugh
